Luang Prabang – Tribal villages – Kuang Xi Waterfall – Luang Prabang.
The trip starts from Laosoutdoor office, after a short instructional lesson on off-road motorbikes, we then have a short ride to a boat landing where we cross the Mekong River by ferry to Ban Xiengman, where the real challenge starts, riding on a dirt road for around one and a half hours to Ban Phou Luangtai (Hmong village). Along the way we pass some vegetable plantations, through several villages which are home to the Lao and Khmu minorities, rice fields and some spectacular scenery before reaching Ban Phou Luangtai, where we stop off for about half an hour to relax and stretch our legs.
We then continue onward until approaching Tad Hoy Koua (One hundred household waterfall), there is time to relax and take some pictures before continuing on a tractor road to Ban Salern for a ferry crossing to Ban Sing, we leave this village quickly and continue riding along a paved road until arriving at Kuang Xi waterfall. After enjoying lunch, the afternoon is spent bathing and relaxing around the crystal clear pools in the area. You can also visit the bear conservation center before heading up to the paved road back to Luang Prabang.
