The first half of the day is spent visiting the museum at the former Royal Palace and the monasteries of Vat Xieng Thong, Vat Mai and Vat Visoun. After enjoying lunch at a restaurant we head to the nearby traditional Por Sa paper making village of Ban Xang Kong before we head up to visit Ock Pop Tok (the Lao silk weaving center). The next stop is the incredibly scenic Kuang Xi Waterfall which is surrounded with turquoise blue pools and is an ideal place for swimming! You can also visit the bear conversation center which has rescued many of these amazing creatures from illegal farms and hunting in the past. On the way back to Luang Prabang we stop at the Hmong village of Ban Na Oun where we see how they create a vast selection of handmade traditional Lao handicrafts.
